Sanyogita Shamsunder is a highly experienced strategic Telecom and Wireless Executive and Board member with over 20 years of experience in driving innovation for new products and transformation in the telecommunications, wireless, mobile, semiconductor, and defense industries. She is currently heading the Global Networking Edge team at Google, responsible for technology engineering and product development for Google’s Cloud as well as legacy services networking infrastructure. Prior to this, she led the new product, platform strategy, product security, and operations team for Verizon Communications, where she led product development and incubated new technology programs, recommended investments, and led product security for all of Verizon’s consumer and enterprise products.

Sanyogita has extensive experience in network technology and infrastructure development, having previously served as the Executive Director of Network Planning at Verizon, where she led the 5G Technology Forum, an industry body consisting of Ericsson, Nokia, Intel, Qualcomm, and Samsung that accelerated the global development of 5G. She was responsible for leading network M&A, regulatory approvals, and vendor management, and led the team that drove new technologies to transform network operations and performance, influencing multiple $B in network capital. Sanyogita has also led University research partnerships, industry groups such as the FCC Technical Advisory Committee, and other initiatives with the DoD, where she led industry-wide strategies on new technologies for shared spectrum, such as CBRS.

Sanyogita is a thought leader and sought-after speaker, having been asked to speak at various industry conferences and workshops, including the Mobile World Congress, Consumer Electronics Show, Grace Hopper Conference, Fierce Wireless panels and keynotes, and various NSF, FCC, and IEEE conferences and workshops. She has published over 30 papers and has over 20 patents. She volunteers her time with the IEEE, several Women in Technology programs and is an angel investor with Neythri Futures Fund.

Sanyogita holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Math from the University of Virginia, as well as an MBA (with honors) from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on the Technical Advisory Board of American Tower (NYSE: AMT) and Maxlinear (NYSE: MXL), was a Board Observer for Eyeway Vision (venture-backed), a CTA Technology Council Member, and a Board of Industry Leaders member at the Consumer Technology Association. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Advisors for Intel-NSF ML in Wireless Networks.
