Lin Nease
HPE Fellow, Chief Technology Officer of Sustainability Services, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Lin Nease is an HPE Fellow and Chief Technologist for HPE Sustainability Ser-vices. In this role, he is responsible for driving HPE sustainability metrics, and providing strategy assistance to HPE’s top customers, bringing innovative new services to market that help our customers navigate their fast-moving sustainability journeys. This includes everything from sustainability in IT operations and datacenter facilities, equipment, and workload management frameworks, to the use of AI, big data, and cyber-physical systems to trans-form operations. For years, Lin has provided strategic consulting directly to numerous enterprises, in industries such as aerospace/defense, manufactur-ing, transportation, government & smart cities, financial services, hospitality, and much more. Lin has spearheaded HPE’s sustainability innovation strate-gy, co-founded HPE’s EdgeLine business, drove strategy for HPE’s GreenLake services, established consulting practices, was an original inventor of the blade server category, and led HPE’s membership in several industry organizations.
In his 30+ years with HPE, he has been a Chief Technologist and Director of strategy for multiple business units, including HP’s Business Critical Servers and Networking businesses, has been a Chief Technologist and General Manager for multiple global accounts (GE, UPS), driven multiple M&A activi-ties and cross-business initiatives, led numerous successful commercial products, including the industry’s first blade solution and HP’s long-lived Superdome platform, and holds several patents in software-defined net-working, video analytics, and data governance technologies.
Nease received his BS in Computer Science at Arizona State University and his MBA from California State University Sacramento. He also served as a computer operator in the United States Air Force.
